I can’t even count the number of benefits the ingredients below have. I believe that people need to recognise natural sources for beauty purposes. I have nothing against products in the market, I’m a beauty therapist and I know it myself and love all my products but these ingredients need to be known by the younger generations and not be buried as old school techniques, as these work beautifully well.
Here is a list of 10 best organic ingredients you can find in your kitchen for beauty purposes.
- Coconut Oil
This is a no brainer for most of us. Coconut oil or coconut in general is the most versatile multi use ingredient that has been used for generations. Coconut oil is great for increasing the moisture in hair, skin, and nails.
Organic sugar is one of the best low cost ingredient for a body scrub. The way to use it is by taking a little amount on your hand and some oil in with it whether it is olive oil, coconut oil, macadamia oil they will all work wonders, mix them together and in circular motions rub it on to the skin like a scrub, you can use a washcloth to remove it or just get into the shower after, you’re skin will be soft and smooth like you’ve never seen before.
- Olive Oil
If you’ve run out of your make up remover or you want to have something natural to remove your make up, look no further olive oil does wonders by breaking down product on the skin and dissolving it so that it just takes a swipe of cotton pad or wipes to get everything off.
Not many people are aware of the benefits of tomatoes on the skin. Rubbing a slice of tomato every night makes your skin brighten and decreases acne as it has a mild acid peel effect on the skin. Having a cold slice would also help soothe the skin.
Cucumbers on the eyes have been a traditional eye mask for years and years yet cucumber also helps soothe sensitive irritated skin, hydrates and plumps the skin. Grind a cucumber and put the paste in the refrigerator for an hour once out apply the paste to your skin if its too cold leave it out till the temperature comes to what can be handled and apply it on the skin and relax while your skin rehydrates and soothes.
Honey is great for boosting complexion. Having anti-bacterial properties it reduces acne and it is full of antioxidants which makes it great for anti ageing skin care uses.
- Green Tea
Green Tea improves skin complexion, makes your skin look healthy. Decreases puffiness and dark circles around the eyes, fights signs of ageing as it is loaded with antioxidants and it treats acne and pimples. Green tea is very beneficial for health many celebrities have raved about the benefits of drinking green tea daily.
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which makes it great for fighting acne, acne scars and makes the skin glow. It reduces signs of ageing, reduces pigmentation and soothes burns.
Benefits of lemon include teeth whitening, skin brightening, cleanser for problematic skin. Use a few drops of lemon juice in distilled water and apply it as a clarifying wipe on to the skin, it will help with problematic skin.
Basil improves the skin from breakouts, blackheads and acne. It clarifies skin and is a natural cure for skin infections. It has anti ageing properties and is a natural remedy for dandruff and hair fall.
